The sacred isle of the ancient world, Delos is still impressive to even those with little interest in archeology. The ruins cover a swathe of the island starting at the coast and climbing to its highest peak. One can see that in the ancient city, every known religion was represented and temples to different Gods stood one beside the other. It is a great pity that contemporary religions are not so progressive. The cyclades are so named because they surround Delos. Even today, if you climb the ancient steps to the islands summit, you feel that you are at the center of the world and nothing matters.
